Angel of the North Match and Catch report to 15th April 07

Bagging up at Angel as water temperatures increase, all lakes fishing as if it is July,

As water temperatures are rising anglers are needing to change both tactics and hook baits used. ie tactics fishing tight to the margins, water depth 2ft 8 inches in depth. Feed baits Angel feed pellets high protein are working very well especially with sweet flavourings added..

Hook baits best productive–  maggots  especially with sweet flavouring added, sweetcorn again with flavourings added. Worm tail (dendra),  Pellets are doing well along with  jellets

The evening after work cost cutter fishing ticket has started from 4pm till closing at £4.00 a ticket.

Bowes carp lake

Best carp of the week a Mirror of 18lb 4oz caught during the Saturday match.  With pleasure anglers getting up to 100 carp out in a day,

Watercraft and choice of pegs on the day is essential for good catches.

Best baits double corn, double maggot, hair rigged drilled pellet and soft hookers, and over Angel, quick release feed pellets.

Bassetts mixed coarse

Some stunning golden tench coming out by the bucket load, and catching at a fish a chuck rate.

Both beginners and competent anglers having great sport on this delightful sheltered pond.

Taster sessions – This is very popular for anyone who may want to try out fishing and then decide if they want to come onto the full coaching courses.

Great numbers of sea and game anglers now wishing to convert to coarse angling and also schools showing great interest.
