BIRMINGHAM
’S Craig O’Brien just missed out on the top prize in the first Barston Bowl event held at Barston Lakes, Solihull.

The event was nick-named ‘the grand match’ with £1000 plus an impressive silver trophy going to top spot, and it was Coventry’s Mick Bull (pictured receiving the trophy from venue owner Nigel Harrhy, left) who took the honours, weighing in 79-8-0 from fancied peg 84.

Craig, who is a bit of an expert on the venue, was second with 43-4-0. Both anglers fished the Method for carp, with Andy Ingersol third from peg 74 with 35-12-0 of bream on the feeder.
