The Thursday Kobra Affordable Open at BW Makins was fished on Derwent, and provided excellent sport all round the lake.

Top weight was taken by Long Eaton angler John Adamson (Kobra Feeders) with 88 lb 6 oz from peg 18.  John’s catch was all carp between 3 and 8 lb in weight, all caught on the pole close to the island, switching baits between sweet corn, pellet and bread flake to keep bites coming.

Runner up was Coalville angler Ray Ketcher (Long Eaton Victoria AS) with 59 lb 8 oz from peg 9, carp and bream all taken on paste, with Long Eaton Victoria’s Dave Kent taking third sport with a corn and luncheon meat caught 46 lb 6 oz from peg 22.
