It’s always a sign that spring must be on the way when catfish wake up from their winter slumbers, and the first one of the year has just been caught at Shatterford Lakes.

Richard Clarke from Rowley tempted the personal best 37-pounder using luncheon meat hook bait during a short session at Stuart’s Lake. Richard had fished Eric’s Lake the previous weekend and ‘got the feeling’ that the cats were about to start feeding. Stuarts also offers carp up to 25lb and some good silver fish sport with occasional matches on Sundays. See www.shatterford.com
