The Cork 2003 Small Boat Angling Competition is moving to Galway for this season.

The event will now be run by Ring Fishing Festival of Clonakilty Bay, West Cork and it is expected be one of the largest competitions Ireland has witnessed for some time.

Entry is limited to the first 100 boats in two categories, under 20ft and over 20ft, with a total prize fund of €10,000 and 45 prizes.

The event itself is being held over the weekend of July 19th and 20th with a practice session for anglers unfamiliar with the local fishing grounds on the Friday prior to the competition.

The area regularly produces catches of more than 20 different species with plenty of specimen catches taken within a mile of the coastline.

There will also be some of the best of music and entertainment Ireland can offer during the festival and the opportunity for anglers to take home some serious money.

There will also be charters available for groups of 10 to 12 who do not wish to trail their own boats and want to take advantage of experienced local skippers.
