REPORT

MOLANDS   For the end of January the fishing has been superb with carp and F1’s showing on most areas and weights to over 100lb have been caught.  The top tactics have been the maggot feeder fished half to three quarter way across for F1’s to 5lb and waggler with pellet fished tight up to the island to carp to 12lb.  Top pegs have been

2, 12, 15, 21 – 29, 43 – 48 and 54 – 58.

GEARYS   This pool has been a bit up and down this week with carp showing on some days and not on others.  Straight lead with boilies or punched bread has been the top tactic and carp to 18lb have been caught.  The skimmers are showing all around on the better days.  Catches to 35lb have been caught with waggler and maggot or long pole and maggot, caster or expander pellet.  Best pegs have been 9 – 13, 18, 19, 31 – 33, 36 and 41.

LITTLE GEARYS    In excellent form with F1’s in the 1½ – 3lb range showing all around the pool.  Maggot is the top bait fished or either a small maggot feeder or pole at 13 metres and down the edges.  Waggler and pellet against the island is also producing good nets.  The top pegs are 1, 7 – 15, 21 and 26 – 30.

GRATUITIES   Grats has not been fished much this week but the few that have fished it have caught decent nets with pole and maggot catching carp, skimmers, roach and some quality perch to 2lb.

ANNIVERSARIES   All the action is in the top bay from pegs 1 – 6 with a massive shoal of F1’s, small carp and roach sitting on these early pegs,  Pole fished pellet, maggot or micros are working well with nets to 60lb coming off.

WILLOW   Some decent sized carp being caught by fishing long down the margins on corn or dobbing bread.  F1’s and smaller carp are coming to the waggler or a small feeder fished tight to the island.

SIBLINGS A & B   Both pools have been more consistent this week with long pole and pellet or maggot catching plenty of F1’s with the odd bigger carp.  The new ide are being caught on maggot or caster fished shallow.
