REPORT

MOLANDS   The bigger F1’s have been providing the best of the action with fish to over 5lb being caught to a variety of tactics.  Pole with pellet fished long at 13 – 16 metres, down the inside with caster or maggot or even the pellet feeder fished across but down the shelf a little have all been productive.  The cooler nights have meant that carp are not showing in large numbers but fish to 14lb were weighed in during matches along with the odd bigger one to pleasure anglers and bomb with bread or white boilies are accounting for the better fish.  Top pegs are 2 – 6, 15, 23, 29 – 33, 44 – 48 and 54 – 58.

GEARYS   Still not fishing too well but the carp are starting to show around the pool in more numbers.  Bomb and bread or fishing down the margins with corn has accounted for the better catches with fish to double figures featuring in nets.  The skimmers are wider spread than of recent weeks and are coming out in better numbers with maggot over ground bait the best tactic for nets to 30lb.  Best pegs are 1, 9, 12, 19, 20, 21, 27 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS   This pool is still a little up and down with the night frosts affecting sport.  Weights are up to nearly 90lb in matches with good back up weights suggests that it is starting to find a bit of form.  Pellet feeder to the island has been the top tactic but you cannot ignore the margins, particularly later in the day and big F1’s, carp and skimmers are coming close in to maggot, caster or hard pellet.  Top pegs are 3 – 9, 13, 21 and 27 – 30.

GRATUITIES   The pellet waggler is starting to catch plenty of carp in the 2 – 5lb bracket as the fish move close to the surface.  Pegs 6 – 9 have seen lots of fish moving near the surface over the last couple of days, particularly on the warmer parts of the day.  Crucians, skimmers and tench are being caught on float fished caster, maggot or expander pellet.

WILLOW    Willow is fishing well with pegs 1, 5, 8 and 10 – 12 all in good form.  Fished right up to the island for best results with pellet feeder or waggler which are both catching plenty of carp and F1’s.

ANNIVERSARIES   The newly stocked fish are moving around the pool but the pegs from 10 – 19 have been the most consistent and producing some hefty catches.  Match weights to 120lb were caught this week and the fishing could not be simpler with short pole with pellet or maggot accounting for the bigger nets.  Pegs 1 and 2 are the best area for carp with fish to 10lb being caught on corn across to the far side.

SIBLINGS A (Doughnut).   Some days, the fishing is non stop with carp, F1’s, tench and skimmers coming to pole and pellet/maggot.  When it is fishing well, short pole is better but on the harder days you have to fish right across to the middle island.

SIBLINGS B (Horseshoe).   Only pleasure fished this week but nobody went away disappointed.  F1’s, tench and carp have been caught in large numbers with pleasure nets exceeding 100lb.  Float fished pellet or caster fished across to the far side is the best tactic.
