REPORT

MOLANDS   Molands has been in very good form this week with a few 100lb+ weights and very good back up weights around the pool.  Carp are showing with fish well into double figures coming to the pellet waggler or down the margins on corn, worm or pellet.  F1’s have been coming out in good numbers too and pole fished pellet either on the hook or shallow has been catching fish to 5lb.  Best pegs are 2, 4, 8 – 12, 19, 21, 29, 42 – 48 and 56 – 60.

PACKINGTON SOMERS FISHERY

GEARYS   Although weights to over 100lb were caught in matches and pleasure anglers have reported even bigger catches, Gearys is still very patchy with some areas fishing well and others poor.  Pleasure anglers fishing on the surface have had fish to 18lb on dog biscuit or large expanders.  In the matches, bomb and pellet or down the margins with corn or worm have been the best tactics.  Top pegs are 6, 9, 13, 17 – 20, 27 and 31 – 36.

LITTLE GEARYS    Top weights were down a little this week but Little Gearys has still been very consistent with F1’s, carp and skimmers showing all around the pool.  The method or pellet feeder is working well fished tight up to the island with small baits such as expander pellet, Polony or punched bread working best.  Shallow pole and pellet is still working with the jigger float effective at the moment.  Best pegs are 3, 5, 7 – 13, 19, 21 and 24 – 48.

GRATUITIES   Up in the water has been best with pellet waggler, candle or surface fishing with bread or floating pellet.  Carp to 10lb have featured in nets with lots of fish in the 2 – 4lb range coming out.  Best pegs 1, 3, 8, 9, 11 and 15.

WILLOW   Fished a little hard this week with catches to around the 50lb mark but F1’s and carp are being caught by fishing up to the island with a small waggler or pellet feeder.  Mixed nets being caught on pole and pellet or caster fished down the middle.  Best pegs have been 1, 3, 8, 10 and 11.

SIBLINGS A & B   Both pools have been fishing well this week with carp in the 1 – 4lb bracket showing well to float fished corn or pellet.

ANNIVERSARIES   Good for silver fish over the past week with nets of skimmers, roach, crucians and tench coming to the caster, soft pellet or corn.  A few bigger carp are coming to meat or boilies fished up to the island or at the top end of the pool.
