Jeremiah Michael is claiming an all tackle world record with this 26lb 8oz spot tail bass (freshwater snapper) caught in a secluded, overgrown river in the Salawesi Islands. The Malaysian angler was lure fishing and the fish was actually considerably bigger, because it bottomed out his scales. However, even at that weight it’s plenty big enough as this is the first ever record application for this species to be submitted to the IGFA.
