England international, and Pole Fishing magazine star Matt Godfrey won this sell out Evesham Championship qualifier, with a 12-2-0 net from peg 58.

Matt based his approach around flatfloat and maggot tactics. After three hours of the match, and with a few small fish in the net, his float slid away and something substantial was hooked! A ten minute battle ensued, before Matt slipped his net under a barbel, which the scales later weighed at 8-14-0. With his smaller fish, this gave him a total of 12-2-0 for the match win.

Michael Buchwalder came in second, with a 11-3-0 net from peg 50. His net included several good roach, and chunky hybrids, all taken on long pole hemp tactics.

James Robbins took third spot with 6-8-0 from peg 66. The Shakespeare backed ace caught several good eels and perch on maggot feeder.
