The 4th round of the Barston Masters took place on saturday July 14th Sponsored by Halkon Hunt – Greys Prodigy and Bagem Match baits.. With the recent bad weather of constant rain the levels of the lake were up once again , and in some places breaking over the lip of the bank.
The Man in form was Baz Byrd (Swans Bait) . Baz drew fancied area peg 18 where he had some room to play with and proceeded to take the lake apart with carp Skimmers and F1’s on the method feeder at range for a total weight of 123lb.
Secound Place went to Steve Daily. Steve was on unfancied peg 103. Steve also fished the method chucking it no more than 16 mtrs out and took skimmers , F1’s and carp to 16lb for a total of 102lb.
Third Place went to Jason shirley. Jason drew peg 2 on the river bank and fished up his left hand margin at about 50 yrds on the method feeder.
The lake in general fished well with weights coming from all areas . Pole and feeder weights were recorded which was nice to see and shows the fish are moving around alot more now!

It looks like from the results above that 15 of the section winners had already qualified. If thats the case then it appears that the entrants are made up of either top notch anglers or venue regulars. Not much chance for an “ordinary” angler winning a section prize.
