May 9th – 15th

6lb 5oz Roy Whitwell, Whittlesy, hares ear
5lb 9oz Paul Laundon, Milton Keynes, olive buzzer
5lb 6oz Mal Broughton, Grantham, damsel, boat
5lb 5oz Peter Watkins, Nottingham, olive shipmans
+ a further 36 fish over 4lb
5lb+ Mr Henshaw, Great Offley, olive buzzer, boat
Bank – boat bay, coarse bank, dam, gravel bar
Boat – all areas fishing well
olive or black buzzer, diawl bach, cruncher, candy or coral fab, damsel, grhe, shipmans
A great 5.6 rod average for the week with most days fishing well although in breezy, bright conditions the fishing was harder in the now extremely clear water.
Large hatches of buzzers, mainly olive or black, are keeping the fish occupied. Boat anglers are catching good bags by changing depth throughout the day to keep in touch with the fish.
Some cloud cover immediately brings some fish to the surface.
On most evenings there is now a spectacular rise from 8.30pm onwards with dry flies such as shipmans, big red and cdc buzzers scoring.
May 18th & 20th
Sunday May 15th Tommy Wood Memorial
A sunny day with a light variable wind should have been decent conditions for this floating line and buzzer imitation only bank competition.
9 anglers weighed in 15 fish.
Matt Tuck was the only angler to manage a limit. He made the walk to the Coarse bank worthwhile to catch his 6 fish in just over an hour and went on to release a further 15 fish!
1. Matt Tuck 6 fish 12lb 8oz
2. Phil Wagstaff 3 fish 7lb 2oz
3. Gordon Anthony 2 fish 4lb 1oz
£388.00 was raised from the raffle and donations for Sue Ryder, Peterborough
