    REPORT
On a cold, wet and windy day LEVAS’s 18th and penultimate match of the year, also for the “Last Bash” Trophy had yet another good turnout, with most of the 28 pegs around the Heron Lake at the Birch House Lakes fishery in use.
As expected however, sport was hard, and 5 anglers failed to catch a fish although over 10-00 was required to make the top 10, which makes a decent match at this time of year, and the final result was quite close with only two and a half pounds splitting the top three anglers.
Neil Stevenson, fishing bomb and maggot throughout the match, took top honours on the day from peg 19 with 28-00, which consisted of carp to around 4-00 in weight,
Andy Edwards on peg 16, who has come into top form just as the matches are reaching their conclusion, fished bread on the pole tight to the lily pads and included carp to around three pounds in his 27-00 for second place, with another in form angler, Dave Lewis (peg 20) taking third place also catching carp to around three pounds on the pole, this time at 13m with maggot bait.
The next three places were filled by Keith White (18-12 from peg 10), Steve Talbot (14-02 from peg 12) and Les Overmass (14-00 from peg 26.
The top four in the 2016 Championship remain the same – Dave Cotterill on 247 points, Rob Pembridge 209, Paul Richardson 206, Les Smedley 196, with Steve Talbot on 193 jumping into fifth place above John Adamson (187) who did not fish. Steve Hoult on 186, Keith White on 182, Neil Stevenson on 180 and Nigel Brailsford on 173 complete the top 10 with only one match to go, which will be on Sunday 4 December on Kingfisher Pool at Beechwood Park. The match will also be the Fur & Feather Match.
