The fish were not put off by the strong gusting wind and rain and the toip three all had “tons”. Mick Timson (peg A20) enjoyed a great day’s sport. With the wind blowing partly “off his back” he had more comfort than many, and caught carp throughout the day on “everything he tried”, method feeder, bomb and pellet then pole. His final 136-04 was just enough to win.
On peg B19, facing the rain, Terry Phillips caught carp steadily on bomb and pellet before switching to the margin towards the end, but fell one fish short with 132-10 for second place.
Third placed Pete Caton had a few fish on method feeder on peg B10 but generally struggled before switching to the pole after 3 hours. Fishing the margins with pellet bait he found the big margin carp and ended with 115-10 for third place.
NB. ‘Nisa Feeders’ Opens are at Makins on Phase 1 every Wednesday, 9.30 am draw in Café (on Phase 1 Car Park).
