FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 17/1/16

Last week 37 rods caught 118 fish for an average of 3.2

We have seen everything weather wise with Snow ,ice and rain which has seen rod numbers fall. For those that braved the conditions it has fished well with some cracking fish caught, with the weeks best a 14lb 2oz Rainbow caught by Dale Simmonds of Stourbridge who was fishing from a boat on cocks close and it fell to a cats whisker fished on a slow sink line.
Local angler Ade Cooper of Maxstoke fished the bank of cocks close and caught 8 fish to 9lb using his own tied pea poly buzzer fished on a floating line. Ian Reeve of Rugby also had 8 fish to 9lb 8oz this time from a boat on cocks close and these all came to minkies and bloodworm.

The bank fishing has been better this week with plenty of fish being caught along the road bank and the old boat jetty area on cocks close.

Top patterns this week are Diawl Bach, black Buzzers, Montana Nymph, GRHE Bloodworm Cats Whisker, black Tadpole and white Minkies.
