Fosters Of Birmingham tackle shop boss Richard Foster came close to claiming the world’s biggest ever carp capture when he out-battled this 130lb Siamese carp at Gillhams Fishing Resort in Thailand.

The destination near Krabi already holds the record with Keith Williams’ 134lb 7oz capture in October 2013 (http://www.total-fishing.com/fishing-news/world-record-siamese-carp-birthday-boy-keith ), and owner Stu Gillham confirmed to Total-Fishing.com that Richard’s carp is the same fish, just a little lighter. It fell for a legered fish bait presented just a foot from the bank and globetrotting angler Richard was able to beat it with the help of 36lb line and a size 4/0 hook.

‘Fishing TV’ is fresh from filming at Gillhams with Dean Macey – programmes that will be broadcast later this year.
