Birmingham fishing tackle outlet Fosters of Birmingham is planning a series of new day ticket lakes which will include tackle shops on site, offering anglers the chance to ‘try before they buy’ when it comes to major tackle purchases.

Bosses are looking at two sites on the outskirts of the city which will include match waters and big fish lakes. The first 90-acre site has already been earmarked and potentially would have enough room for ten or more lakes. “We have always been about much more than selling tackle, and the creation of a new network of day ticket fisheries will promote fishing in the area and help us bring new blood into the sport,” said shop owner Richard Foster.

Fosters is running an open day at its Witton premises at B6 7HH on July 27th from 9am to 5.30pm which will include tuition sessions and a question and answer session with top anglers including Jan Porter, Iain Macmillan and Fish O Mania finalist Nick Speed.
