Superteam Still On Top
HanKat Teams Of Three, Round Four
Birmingham Mainline Canal, Wolverhampton
(75 pegs)

Paul Bick had a mixture of luck and misfortune in the fourth round of the HanKat Teams Of Three winter league. The Shakespeare Superteam canal expert was experiencing roach-a-chuck action from a fancied area in front of the boat yard before the sixth and seventh sections of his top-of-the-range pole blew in and sunk. Quite remarkably, a nearby competitor happened to have two identical spare sections in his rod bag and after sportingly passing them down the bank Paul continued to catch! While many of the field struggled for ounces, Paul’s 8-12-3 final catch was easily enough to win the day. It also helped to keep his Shakespeare Superteam squad (Paul Bick, Mick Hatchard and Rob Quinn) on top of the league.
In-form Darren Lewis (Fox Match Tipton) was second overall with 6-5-2 of small roach from Dixon Street while Johnny Fowler (Sensas Dams & Lock) and Jon Arthur (Shakespeare Mach III) tied in third spot with 6-3-0.
On the team front Browning Central (Jason Jeens, Chris Foulkes and Alex Powell) did exceptionally well to finish with just 13 penalty points. With two rounds left there is all to play for as only 12 points separate the top four teams.
