Following the recent death of North Staffordshire match angling legend Jeff Moors a memorial match to honour Jeff will be held at Border Fisheries Nr Crewe Cheshire (CW2 5QA) on Saturday 18th September 2010. The draw will take place on the Meridian complex at 9am and fishing will be from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

Jeff had always supported junior angling and to that end his request was that should a memorial match take place the money raised would go to help young anglers

In line with Jeff’s wishes, pools will be £25 with £15 of that going to the Junior Angling Development Centre at Border Fishery.

Bay Malton AC has waived any peg fees for the event so anglers will be fishing for a total prize fund of £1,300.

There are 130 pegs available and they will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

A post-match get together will be held at the “Thistleberry” Hotel Newcastle Staffs, where Jeff’s family will be glad to welcome and thank competitors.

To book a place contact Dave Smith on 07966 590 124.

Total-Fishing.com has agreed to donate half the proceeds from the 2010 Glebe Festival to the Jeff Moors Memorial Fund to be put towards trophies and to go to the Junior Angling Development Centre.

Total-Fishing.com’s Gareth Purnell said: “Jeff was a long time member of Total-Fishing.com and his passing will hit the online match fishing community very hard. We raised over £2000 this year half of which went to the Angling Trust. In line with members’ wishes, were looking for a an appropriate good cause for the other half of the monies raised, and this fits the bill perfectly. Our thoughts go out to his family and closest friends.”
