Kiwi angler Rex Harrison caught the potential new All-Tackle Length record snapper (squirefish) (Pagrus auratus) – a 78 cm trophy – while fishing cut skipjack tuna off the coast of Cape Brett, New Zealand with IGFA Representative Scott Tindale.

Harrison needed only five minutes to subdue the potential record, which was quickly released after being properly documented. The current IGFA record is 73 cm.
