Angling Trust RiverFest qualifier – River Severn at Shrewsbury

Match report

The River Severn was low and clear with a cold easterly wind, which made some sections hard at this years RiverFest qualifier held on Sunday 23rd October with 55 fishing.

The first to qualify for the final was Lee Harries (DH Angling) with 17-9-0 from peg 4 on County Ground section A. Lee had a big chub on the feeder and dace on the waggler with double maggot.
Second to qualify was Scott Geens (Preston Innovations) with 16-3-8 consisting of a 9lb barbel on the pellet feeder and silvers plus a 2lb perch on peg 29 in the quarry section B.
The third angler to qualify was Tom Lane (Lanes Tackle) who had a fine net of roach plus a chub weighing 14-1-0 on the bolo down the middle of the river on a size 14 hook and double maggot.

The RiverFest action heads to the Yorkshire Ouse at Hunters Lodge to Linton On Ouse on Saturday 29th October, and the last qualifier of the year takes place on Sunday 30th October on the Warwickshire Avon at Warwick.
