Match anglers are coming together at Maynes Fishery in Leicestershire to raise money for Macmillan Nurses.

Match organiser Terry Fisher chose the charity for the August 30th even after his wife was diagnosed with cancer. She was treated by Macmillan nurses but the cancer returned and she lost her battle in June 2009.

The Stoke Golding Fishery is donating two lakes free of charge for the 50-pegger, both holding mixed stock of carp, tench and skimmers and having an island feature to fish to within pole range.

To take part anglers need to raise a minimum of £25 in sponsorship by getting people to have a £1 go at a guess the total weight caught competition. And the charity raffle prizes list is looking good with Willis Worms, Carp Vader, Cats and Dogs, Net Buster Bait, Fox and Hillbilly Pole Floats all among the sponsors.

Pegs are going fast but there are a few left at the time of writing. For more information contact Chris Glover on 0782 829 5383.
