Lineaeffe/TackleTek sponsored angler, young Ashley Tappenden (15) competed for Team Greenwich last weekend in the first round of the London Youth Games angling competition.

The games have been held every year since their inauguration in 1977 to celebrate the

Queens Silver Jubilee and every year 20,000 kids from the 32 London borough’s plus The City of London take part on various sporting events.

Last weekend was the angling competition held at Horseshoe Lake, Tylers Common. Ashley Tappenden, sponsored by Lineaeffe/TackleTek competed for Team Greenwich along with two team mates and brought in the third best weight of the competition with 19lb 9oz of mixed silvers and carp on a blisteringly hot day. Overall Team Greenwich came second in the competition missing out on the top spot by just 4oz.
Ashley and Team Greenwich have made
it through to the finals to be held at Crystal Palace lakes on 9th July.
