The Barston Masters 3rd round took place on Saturday June 9th.

With the bad weather beforehand it was anyone’s guess on how it was going to fish. The level of the lake was up by four inches… there was plenty of colour in the water and with the overcast conditions everyone expecting the venue’s skimmers to have a go.

Winning on the day was Maurice Williams (Sensas/Chiltern Baits). Maurice drew peg 23 on the river bank where he fished the Method feeder at 70 yards with groundbait around the feeder and boilies hook bait. Maurice had four carp plus F1s, with his biggest carp going to 12lb, and finished up with a total weight of 48-1-0.

Maurice’s section proved to be the area to be in with Dave Krucklow (2nd) sitting on Peg 18…

Dave also fished the Method feeder at range and took carp and F1s for 38-8-0. Close behind Dave and on the next peg was Dean Grainger, who weighed 36lb chucking at range on the Method feeder for third.
