REPORT

MOLANDS   Generally fishing well with some good nets of F1’s and carp caught this week.  Shallow tactics have been best for the F1’s with fish between 1 and 3lb coming to pole and pellet fishing long at 10 – 14 metres.  The carp have been responding to feeder tactics fishing tight to the island as possible with meat, banded hard pellet or punched bread accounting for fish to double figures.  Best areas are pegs 9 – 19, 29 – 33, 42 – 48 and 52 – 60.

GEARYS   Gearys has been in good form throughout the week with carp showing well including plenty of double figure fish to 18lb.  Straight lead or pellet waggler have been working well, firing out 8 or 11mm pellets and fishing over the top of them.  There were a few good nets of skimmers with fish from 1 – 3lb coming to paste fished short at 5 or 6 metres or even right down the margin.  The better pegs have been where the wind has been blowing to and for much of the week the high bank pegs from 6 – 15 and 17 – 23 have been on the best form.

LITTLE GEARYS   There has been suberb sport this week with big weights being caught all around the pool.  Match weights to 140lb this week but the back ups have been equally impressive with lots of 60lb catches.  The top tactic is shallow pole and pellet but big nets are also coming to meat, paste and pellet fished down the margin or a small method/pellet feeder fished tight across to the island.  Top pegs are 5, 7, 9 – 15, 21, 25 and 29 but every peg is capable of decent catches at the moment.

GRATUITIES   This is another pool in good form with plenty of carp in the 2 – 4lb bracket.  There have been tench to 4lb, skimmers, crucians and the odd barbel to 2lb being caught.  Pellet wagggler fished tight to the island with an 8mm pellet has been working really well for the carp.  Mixed nets are being caught on pole or paste fished between 6 – 10 metres out on the pole.  Best pegs 1, 4, 6, 8 – 11 and 15.

ANNIVERSARIES    Anglers have enjoyed plenty of action on Anniversaries although the fish are not as big they do get plenty of bites with skimmers, crucians, tench, F1’s and small carp coming well to pellet , caster or small pieces of meat fished up to the island.  Best pegs 1 – 6, 9 – 12 and 17 – 23.
WILLOW    Willow is fishing well with good nets of carp, F1’s, tench and skimmers coming to the long pole and pellet.  The pellet feeder fished tight up to the island is also producing good nets with the bigger carp and F1’s responding better to this tactic.  Best pegs 1, 5, 6, 7 and 9.

SIBLINGS   Some good nets of tench and carp were caught this week with meat fished down the inside margin working well.  The middle points have been the best area fishing back up towards the reed beds.  Carp to 19lb caught this week by anglers fishing off the top with dog biscuit.
