REPORT

MOLANDS In decent form at the moment with match and pleasure catches to 70lb being caught. F1’s, carp and skimmers providing the action with the top tactics method or pellet feeder fished tight across to the island. Hard pellet, polony, corn or white boilies have been the best baits. Top pegs have been 1 – 4, 12 – 19, 29 – 35, 43 – 48 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS Pleasure anglers have enjoyed the better catches with the late afternoon sessions fishing best. Carp to 15lb, skimmers and brown goldfish in nets estimated 80lb. Pole tactics have been the best approach either fishing out at 13 metres for mixed nets or down the margins for carp, paste, corn or pellet have been the top baits. Best pegs 6, 9, 12, 17, 19, 21, 23 and 29 – 33.

LITTLE GEARYS As with most of the pools Little Gearys is fishing better in the afternoons. F1’s, skimmers and an increasing number of crucians are making up the majority of catches. Long Pole with pellet or chopped worm and caster has been the top tactic but you can also catch down the edge with paste or pellet. Best Pegs are 3, 9 – 13, 19, 21 and 25 – 29.

GRATUITIES The better catches are coming by fishing tight up to the features either down the margins or on the island. Pellet or corn fished down the edge is catching mixed nets of carp, tench, skimmers and crucians. Carp in the 2 – 4lb bracket along with the odd fish up to double figures are coming to a method feeder fished really tight to the island with corn, meat or pellet the best hook baits. Best pegs are 1, 4, 5, 8, 9, 15 and 16.

ANNIVERSARIES Good mixed nets of small carp, skimmers, crucians and tench are coming to pole tactics with pellet or caster working well and corn picking out the better quality. The best areas have been the big bay at the top end on pegs 1 – 6 and the lawn area from 15 – 18.

WILLOW Willow has been fishing really well with good mixed catches coming to pellet fished long on the pole. There were some cracking bags of carp taken with fish in the 3 – 8lb range being caught off the top with dog biscuit.

SIBLINGS Tench were showing well on Siblings last week with catches of up to 15 fish in single sessions with fish between 2 – 5lb coming to meat or corn fished over ground bait. Pellet and caster are producing plenty of bites from skimmers, crucians, tench and a few carp also starting to make an appearance. The top end of the pool around the reed beds is the best area.

FIRST BAY This pool is fishing really well at the moment with carp in the 1 – 3lb bracket, crucians, rudd and tench all going well to float fished maggot, pellet or caster. Fishing up to the lily beds or under any branches that are overhanging is the best approach.
