REPORT

MOLANDS   Molands is fishing pretty well at the moment with a variety of methods producing good catches.  Straight lead or waggler combined with 8mm pellet fished down the far shelf is producing carp into double figures.  Paste or pellet down the near margin is accounting for some cracking mixed nets of skimmers, tench and F1’s.  Best pegs are 1, 8, 12, 19, 23, 37, 44 – 46 and 54 – 56.

GEARYS    Match weights to 100lb+ this week and pleasure anglers enjoying some cracking action with some quality carp being caught.  Top tactics have been the method feeder fished out to the middle stumps or straight lead with 8mm pellet.  The skimmers also showed in numbers with catches to 50lb caught on paste or pellet fished on the pole close in.  Best pegs are 1 – 15, 19 – 21, 27 – 30 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS    In excellent form at the moment with lots of match catches exceeding 50lb and topped by the 100lb 15oz caught by Rob Swain of Birmingham who fished pellet shallow at 11 metres on unpopular peg 5 catching F1’s from 12oz – 4lb.  Good sport to be had around the pool with any peg capable of winning matches.

GRATUITIES   Like all the pools at the moment, Gratuities is offering excellent sport with lots of carp from 1½lb – 6lb, tench to 5lb, crucians, skimmers and roach feeding well.  Top tactics are either a small method to the island with pellet or meat on the hook or pole fished paste at 6 – 8 metres.  The far side on the end pegs are in the best form.

ANNIVERSARIES   The growing popularity of Anniversaries shows how good sport is on here recently with the variety of species popular with anglers.  Crucians, tench, carp, skimmers and the odd barbel have been making up catches this week with pole fished caster, expander pellet or corn all working well.  Best pegs are 1 – 6, 10, 15 – 17 and 22.

WILLOW   Plenty of carp and tench being caught by fishing close in down the near margin with meat, corn or paste.  Some good catches also being taken on feeder with the widest pegs like 1, 2, 5 and 6 producing good nets of carp to a small method feeder.

CRESCENT/ALDER/FIRST BAY & REEDY BAY   All of these small pools offer a variety of fish and float fishing with maggot, caster or pellet producing lots of bites throughout the day.  Carp to double figures feature with plenty of tench, crucians and skimmers to keep bites coming.
