REPORT

MOLANDS    The very mixed weather over the last week including the pool being frozen on Saturday made sport very difficult.  Double figure bags of F1’s, skimmers and crucians were the best to be had with pellet or maggot fished long at 13 metres the best tactic.  Best pegs 1- 6, 27 – 31, 42 – 46 and 52 – 60.

GEARYS   Like all of the pools the fishing has been very tough over the past week with anglers having to break ice to fish Saturday’s Open.  The odd carp coming to lead and pellet or bread punch but skimmers on a ground bait feeder with pinkies or red maggot was the best tactic.

LITTLE GEARYS    Even the F1’s have switched off but a few carp are coming to straight lead and bread or pellet feeder with meat or dead maggot on the hook.  Roach and skimmers can be caught short on caster or red maggot.

GRATUITIES    Very clear at the moment and the corner pegs 1, 8, 9, 15 and 16 have provided the best sport with pinkies, maggot or small expander pellets catching roach, skimmers, crucians with the odd bonus tench or carp.

ANNIVERSARIES   Roach, perch and skimmers are giving the best sport on pole and maggot, pinkie or caster.  A few carp are showing up on the top end fishing tight to the far bank on pegs 1 – 3 with caster or pellet.

WILLOW    The reed bed pegs on 5 and 6 have given the best sport with carp, tench, skimmers and crucians in nets to 30lb on pole fished pellet, red maggot or caster.

RIVER BLYTHE   Chub to 5lb reported this week with ledgered bread or lobworm working best for the bigger fish.  Bronze maggot or caster is catching roach, perch and chublets.
