REPORT

MOLANDS    Fished reasonably well in areas through the week but sport got harder as the weather turned colder at the weekend.  F1’s and skimmers making up most of the catches but a few tench and carp were also caught.  The top tactics at the moment are to fish expander pellet on the pole at 10 – 12 metres or the maggot feeder with red maggot on the hook fished a couple of yards short of the island.  Best pegs have been 10 – 17,
29 – 31, 43, 48 and 52 – 60.

GEARYS   Fished quite hard this week with catches only into the high double figures.  Skimmers and brown goldfish coming to the pellet or caster fished long on the pole or in an open end feeder.  The odd carp coming to the straight lead and pellet but it is a waiting game with the stump area the best bet for fish to double figures.  Best pegs have been
7 – 12, 18, 19, 30 – 32 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS    The most consistent pool this week with catches to over 40lb and fish being caught from all areas.  F1’s to 3lb providing the bulk of the action with skimmers, roach and a few carp also coming out.  Pole fished pellet is the best tactic with a pellet feeder with pellet or meat also worth a try.  The top pegs are 7 – 13 and 21 – 29.

GRATUITIES   The corner pegs are still the best areas with 1, 9, 15 and 16 producing carp, tench and skimmers with pellet or red maggot the best baits.

WILLOW   Fishing very well since the reed bed has been removed with fish being caught all around the pool.  Mixed nets of F1’s, carp, tench and skimmers are coming to long pole with pellet.  A small feeder to the island is also picking up a few fish.

ANNIVERSARIES    The lawn area on pegs 15 – 19 is the best area with nice nets of skimmers, roach, F1’s and small carp.  Caster, maggot or 4mm expander pellet fished over micros is the best tactic.
