REPORT

MOLANDS It has been a very busy week on Molands with matches most days. Lots of 30 – 50lb weights which are mainly F1’s and skimmers so anglers fishing the evening sessions have caught lots of carp on pellet or paste fished down the near margin. Best tactic in matches is paste, pellet or chopped worm and caster fished close in. Method/pellet fished to the island is also working well. Best pegs are 2, 10 – 17, 27 – 29, 43 – 46 and 52 – 60.

GEARYS Gearys has been a little harder this week as the levels rise as we have pumped from the other pools to fill it. The skimmers are not responding well but carp to 17lb and plenty between 4 – 8lb are providing the main action. Straight lead and pellet is the best tactic for carp with the better mixed nets coming to chopped worm and caster on the pole. The high bank from pegs 7 – 13 and pegs 16 – 23 have been the in form areas.

LITTLE GEARYS Steve White of Nuneaton won the Monday evening three hour match with 87lb of F1’s and carp caught on method feeder with meat/white boilies on the hook fishing tight over to the island and this tactic has worked well all around the pool. Short pole and pellet or paste has also been catching plenty of F1’s, skimmers and tench. Best pegs are 7 – 15, 19, 21 and 24 – 30.

GRATUITIES No matches this week but plenty of pleasure anglers fishing on Gratuities as most have found the fishing very good with carp, tench and crucians feeding very well. Pole fished pellet or paste has worked well on the end pegs fished down the sides or to overhanging bushes. One the straights, small pellet feeder fished tight to the island has been better.

ANNIVERSARIES In good form for tench, skimmers and crucians with pole fished corn, pellet or caster all producing plenty of fish. The bigger carp are showing on pegs
1 – 4 fishing tight across to the far bank with meat or corn or on floating baits such as dog biscuit or bread and fish to over 15lb have been reported this week.

SIBLINGS Lots of crucians and skimmers are coming to caster or pellet fished over micros with the pegs on the points in the middle of the pool fishing well. The carp are showing better amongst the reed beds and fish to over 10lb are coming out to boilies or meat fished tight up to the reeds.

WILLOW The open fished on Sunday saw anglers catching well on a small method fished to the island with meat on the hook and catches to 51lb were caught. Pleasure anglers have found fishing down the near margin working well for carp to double figures, tench and the better sized skimmers. Top pegs 1, 5 – 7 and 10 – 12.

CRESCENT/FIRST BAY/ALDER/REEDY BAY Really popular pools albeit very small but lots of small carp, tench, skimmers and roach have given loads of bites with pellet, corn or maggot all working well.
