FISHING REPORT

MOLANDS It has been a fantastic week on all of the pools with the midweek Festival seeing lots of 100lb+ catches. The top weight during the week was a 146lb bag of F1’s caught on peg 56 which all came to the pellet waggler and pellet. Shallow tactics have proved to be the best with pellet fishing on the pole at 10 to 14.5 metres working really well and the pellet waggler fished across towards the island. Pellet feeder fished tight to the islands is also accounting for plenty of fish with the bigger carp responding better to this tactic. Top pegs 2, 4, 8, 9, 25, 29, 31, 43 – 48 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS Some excellent nets of fish have been caught this week with a new six hour hour best weight of 173lb 6oz caught by Lee Richards on peg 13 which was carp to 15lb caught on bomb and pellet. This tactic has been the most effective during the past week but fishing shallow on the pole is also working well for carp. The bigger skimmers have been showing in numbers and corn fished down the edge has accounted for fish to 3lb in nets to 70lb+ Top pegs are 1, 9 – 13, 19, 23, 27, 31 and 36..

LITTLE GEARYS The fishing has been unbelievably good through the week with lots of 100lb+ nets and a new six hour weight of 189lb 10oz was caught by Danny Tresigne off peg 7 fishing pole and pellet shallow. Lots of different methods have worked this week including down the margins with meat or pellet and pellet/method feeder across to the island catching well. Top pegs have been 3, 5, 7 – 13, 21, 25 and 27.

GRATUTIES As with all the pools last week the fishing has been excellent with carp to double figures showing to surface baits or pellet waggler. Mixed nets of small carp, tench, crucians, skimmers and barbel being caught on float fished corn, meat or caster fished down the margins or at six metres out. Best pegs are 1, 4, 8, 11, 15 and 16.

WILLOW Pellet waggler or pellet feeder fished tight across to the middle island is producing excellent sport with carp and F1’s from 1lb – 3lb showing well to this. The bigger carp are being caught on paste or corn down the edge or on the top with dog biscuit or big expander pellet and fish to 15lb have been caught this week.

ANNIVERSARIES The fishing has been very good this week and with good nets of F1’s being caught around the pool and bonus carp to 13lb and tench to 5lb showing. Corn or pellet have been the main baits fished over micro pellet on the pole or waggler. Best pegs have been 1 – 8 and 19 – 23.

SIBLINGS A (Doughnut). Mainly carp in the 1 – 4lb bracket making up the better catches with F1’s, skimmers and tench also producing decent sport. Long pole with meat fished tight up to the island has been the best approach in the day but in the evenings, down the margins has been working well with pellet, corn or meat. Best pegs 1 – 5, 9 and 15 – 21.

SIBLINGS B (Horseshoe). Lots more F1’s showing on Siblings B fishing the pellet either short or across to the far bank can give a bite every drop in with fish from 8oz – 1lb. The better sized carp are being caught on meat, paste or corn with fish to 5lb falling to this.
