REPORT

MOLANDS   Match weights to nearly 100lb and pleasure anglers reporting good nets this week albeit a little peggy.  Carp to double figures and tench to 6lb have featured in catches along with plenty of crucians and F1’s.  The top tactics are method/pellet feeder with polony meat or dead maggot fished across to the island or short pole down the near margin with caster, paste or pellet.  Top pegs have been 1 – 4, 15, 19, 27 – 33, 43 – 49 and 54 – 58.

GEARYS   The best time to fish is in the late evenings when the bigger fish patrol the margins.  Carp to 18lb reported this week with lots of doubles coming out.  Paste or meat are the best baits fished right tight into the near margin.  During matches, the method feeder is working well with dead reds, 8mm pellet or meat on the hook.  Best pegs are 1, 11 – 18, 23 – 27 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS   The best catches have come by fishing close either tight up to the near margin or just down the first shelf.  Caster, paste or pellet for skimmers, crucians and F1’s with anglers getting plenty of fish from ½ pound to 2lb.  The bigger carp up to 9lb and large F1’s are coming to the pellet feeder fished across to the island.  Decent catches being made all around the pool but pegs 7 – 11, 19 – 21 and 26 – 29 are the top pegs.

GRATUITIES   The bigger carp are being caught shallow or on the top with plenty of fish in the 6 – 8lb range coming out to pellet or dog biscuit.  Pole fished paste at 11 metres is also working very well with nets of tench and carp to over 80lb reported by pleasure anglers.  Best pegs are from 1 – 4 and 11 – 16.

WILLOW   Lots of skimmers and crucians coming to pellet fished down the middle but the bigger fish are being caught either down the edge or tight up to the island on meat or corn, carp to 10lb and tench to over 5lb have come to this .  Best pegs 1, 5, 6, 9 and 12.

ANNIVERSARIES   This lake is in good form with mixed nets of skimmers, crucians, tench and carp coming to pellet or paste.  The bigger carp are coming to meat or boilies fished up to the island and the best reported, was a 17lb 14oz ghostie, but quite a few doubles are also showing.  Top pegs are 1, 6, 9, 10, 14, 17 and 22.

SIBLINGS   The bigger carp are showing at the top end of the pool on the early pegs fished out to the gravel bar at the end of the reed beds with double figure fish coming to boiles, meat or corn.  Tench, skimmers and crucians are coming out from all areas to paste, corn or pellet.
