REPORT

MOLANDS   Match weights to 100lb caught this week but in general the fishing has been a little bit tougher this week.  The better catches have come from the near bank either fishing right up to the margin or just down the first shelf.  Maggot, caster and banded hard pellet have been the top baits.  Best pegs are 2, 4, 9, 10, 12, 17, 29, 42 – 48 and 54 – 58.

GEARYS    Gearys was still a little patchy with the carp starting to look as though they are about to spawn.  Match weights close to 100lb were caught this week and the evening sessions have been best.  Bomb and 8mm hard pellet, method feeder to the middle stumps and down the margins with corn or worm over ground bait have been the best tactics.  Top pegs are 1, 11 – 13, 16 – 23, 27, 31 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS   Fishing shallow with pellet waggler, candle or long pole and pellet have been the most productive methods during the day.  In the afternoons, fishing down the margin with paste, corn, or pellet has accounted for some big bags of carp and F1’s.  Best pegs are 3, 7, 9 – 12, 21 and 24 – 29.

GRATUITIES   The better carp are being caught off the top or shallow with pellet waggler and fish to double figures have been caught this week.  There have been plenty of crucians, skimmers, tench, small carp and a few barbel coming to pole fished caster or expander pellet.  Top pegs 1, 8, 9, 15 and 16.

WILLOW   Pellet waggler and pellet feeder fished tight to the island are the top tactics on Willow at the moment.  Good mixed nets are coming to caster or soft pellet on the pole fished short at 6 metres.  Best pegs 1, 3, 5, 6, and 10 – 12.

SIBLINGS A & SIBLINGS B   Both pools have been producing plenty of F1’s to pole and pellet.  Siblings A is better for carp with fish to 8lb coming to meat or corn fished across to the middle island.

ANNIVERSARIES   Lots of F1’s from 8oz to 2lb are being caught from all areas of the pool with short pole and soft pellet the best tactic.  The bigger carp are being caught from the early pegs with fish to double figures coming to corn or meat fished over to the far bank on pegs 1 – 4.
