REPORT

MOLANDS    Some good sized carp showing with fish to over 14lb weighed in matches this week but generally sport has been a little patchy over the past week.  Long pole with pellet, caster/worm or maggot has been the most consistent method with F1’s, small carp, skimmers and crucians coming to this.  The bigger carp are being caught on method feeder fished tight up to the island with red boilies, dead maggot or polony on the hook.  Best pegs 2 – 10, 26 – 29, 44 – 48 and 52 – 60.

GEARYS   Another pool that has fished a lot harder through the week with catches to just over 40lb winning matches.  Carp, skimmers and crucians are making up the catches and pole with pellet or caster and method feeder with meat or pellet have been the best tactics.  The high bank best from pegs 6 – 13 and the far side on 29 – 32 have been the best areas.

LITTLE GEARYS    The colour has dropped out and the fishing has been pretty hard this week.  Fish are still being caught from all areas but catches are down to 30lb winning matches.  Method feeder with dead maggot or punched bread has been working best.  Long pole with pellet has also produced a few fish.

GRATUITIES    Catches to over 40lb taken during the week but tactics have to be more refined with smaller hooks and lighter hook lengths needed.  Carp to 6lb being caught on the corner pegs with meat or pellet.  Along the straights, skimmers and crucians are coming to 4mm expander.

ANNIVERSARIES    Pegs 1 – 6 are best with carp to 3lb coming to caster or pellet.  Around the other parts of the pool, caster is working well for roach, skimmers and perch.

WILLOW    Pegs 5 and 6 best for carp and tench with catches to 50lb reported this week and float fished pellet or caster working best.  Roach, skimmers and crucians being caught around the pool fishing long pole and pellet.
