FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 18/11/12

Last week 98 rods caught 197 fish for an average of 2.04.

It was a little more difficult this week but there were some cracking fish caught to make up for it.
The best fish of the week was a 12lb 1oz rainbow caught by Harold Pritchett of Mancetter who was fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and took it on a Damsel Nymph fished on an intermediate line.
Kevin Brookes of Tamworth caught a 10lb 8oz rainbow in a five fish limit and these all came to a Damsel Nymph whilst fishing from a boat on Cocks Close.
The Packington Fly Fishers held their annual bank match on Cocks Close and the winner was John Salisbury of Warwick who caught a five fish limit for a total big weight of 16lb 13oz and included a 7lb 5oz rainbow in this.  These all came to Lures fished on a sinking line.

On the members’ waters, Paul Reay of Birmingham fished on Park Meadow pool and caught seven fish to 3lb which all came to black Buzzers on a floating line.
Nick Howarth of Nuneaton caught five from a boat on the Hall Pool.
The best areas on Cocks Close have been the high bank and the wires bank.
On the Hall Pool, the dam wall and the far bank from the boat jetty has been successful.

Best tactics have been to fish a weighted Lure on the point such as Cats Whisker or black Tadpole then to fish a P T Nymph, Cruncher or Diawl Bach on the dropper.
