REPORT

MOLANDS Despite being frozen for most of the week the fishing has been good after breaking the ice. F1s have produced the main sport but plenty of quality roach and the odd carp have also been caught. Long pole with maggot or pinkies has been the best approach and catches to nearly 50lb have been made and fish are being caught from most pegs.

GEARYS With the cold weather, sport has been quite difficult but there were skimmers to double figures winning the Winter League section on Gearys on Sunday. During the week before the ice, there were a few carp caught with orange wafter fished out to the middle stumps catching fish to 10lb+.

LITTLE GEARYS Catches to over 30lb were caught in the week and before the ice came it was fishing better all round with pole and expander pellet or maggot and the maggot feeder catching well. The ice made it a little patchy with catches dropping off.

GRATUITIES Good nets of bream, skimmers, roach and perch were being caught before the freeze up and pole fished maggot or pinkies were accounting for mixed nets to 35lb+. The road bank has been the best area from pegs 4 – 8.

SIBLINGS A & B A stocking of ide, roach and bream saw catches improved this week and even after breaking the ice, sport was very consistent on both pools. Carp and F1s seem to be spread out and catches to over 35lb were caught on ‘A’ with pole fished caster or maggot best.

ANNIVERSARIES Fished well early in the week with peg 2 probably the best peg on the fishery. Catches to 70lb+ of mainly F1’s but a few roach and bream also showing. Pegs 6, 8, 17 and 21 also worth fishing with pole fished maggot, pinkies or pellet working best.
