REPORT

MOLANDS  Fished well early in the week with match weights to over 100lb bit the cooler nights and high pressure slowed sport towards the weekend.Pole and pellet short at 4-6 metres has been the best method for f1s to 4lb and pellet waggler or bomb and pellet is catching to 15lb,fishing these tight as you can get to the island.   Top pegs are 2,10,19, 23-29, 31, 42 – 46 57 and 60.

GEARYS   Still quite hard going on Gearys but match weights and pleasure bags were up a bit from last week.Carp nets to over 80lb with fish to 18lb have been caught with bomb and big pellet accounting for the better nets. There were some lovely mixed nets of skimmers ,crucians and roach caught on pole fished maggot, caster and expander pellet.   Top pegs have been 7, 9-13, 18 – 21, 27 and 31-36

LITTLE GEARYS The largest match weight ever caught at the fishery came off the Thursday knockup with Danny Tresigne catching 234lb on maggots fished shallow at 13 metres from peg 21.Like all of the pools sport has been affected by the colder nights and catches had dropped by the weekend.Natural baits such as maggot, worm and caster are starting to be the most effective fished long on the pole or down the near margin.Top pegs are 1, 3, 7 – 11, 21, 25 – 29.

WILLOW   Pellet waggler fished up to the island is still the best approach on willow with carp to 6lb and F1s to 3lb in nets to 60lb+.Some goods mixed nets of skimmers,f1s and crucians being caught on the expander pellet fished over micros as well.

SIBLINGS A  The best tactic has been fishing meat down the near margin and this has worked well for carp around the 2-4lb range along with the odd fish to double figures.Pole and pellet working best for f1s and skimmers fished in the deeper water down the middle,Best pegs are 1,5,12,17and21

ANNIVERSARIES   F1’s showing all around the pool now with pellet or paste catching lots of fish.  The bigger carp are showing on pegs 1 – 4 and 21 – 23 with float fished corn the best approach for fish up to 12lb.
