REPORT

MOLANDS   Sport improved over the past week with carp showing well to the method feeder fished tight up to the island with polony, meat or mini boilies on the hook.  Skimmers, F1’s and tench being caught on pole and paste or expander pellet fishing just down the first shelf.  Best pegs are 2, 12 – 17, 29 – 31, 39 – 44 and 54 – 57.

GEARYS    The best weight of the year was taken by Andy Finlay in the Bank Holiday Open, a massive 149lb 14oz of carp from 5 – 12lb caught on a method feeder with meat from peg 11.  Generally the fishing has been a little up and down with some areas, such as the high bank and shallow water fishing well but the far side has been a lot harder.  Top tactic has been the method feeder with pellet or meat on the hook and fishing pellet over the top.

LITTLE GEARYS    It has been a very busy week on Little Gearys and the pool has fished pretty well with match weights to over 60lb and pleasure anglers catching more.  Pole and paste has been the best tactic fishing tight into the near margin for F1’s and skimmers.  The method feeder fished up to the island is also working well.  Best pegs
7 – 11, 17 – 21 and 23 – 28.

GRATUITIES   Fished quite hard this week with the feature pegs in the corners producing the best action with small carp in the 1 – 3lb bracket and tench to 3lb being caught.  Pole fished along the high bank with pellet, worm or caster has been the top tactic.

ANNIVERSARIES   Mixed catches of carp, bream, crucians and tench coming to float fished pellet or caster.  The top end on the early number pegs best with 1 – 6 in good form.

WILLOW   This pool is in cracking form at the moment with lots of carp from 1 – 4lb and the odd bigger fish up to double figures coming out.  Float fished pellet down the near margin or feeder to the island with pellet or meat on the hook have been the best tactics.  Best pegs 1, 5, 6, 9 and 12.
