REPORT
MOLANDS In good form this week with match weights to 100lb+ and some big catches by pleasure anglers. Afternoon and evening sessions are best. The top tactics are shallow pole and pellet for F1’s or down the edge with corn, paste or worm for carp, F1’s and tench. Top pegs have been 4, 12, 15, 19, 27 – 29, 39, 42 – 48 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS Like all the pools, Gearys is in good form at the moment with carp showing all around the pool and fish to 19lb were weighed in during matches this week., The bigger skimmers are starting to show in numbers as well with fish to 3lb in nets to 50lb. The top tactics are pinging pellets at 25 metres and fishing the bomb over the top or shallow pole and pellet at 13 metres. Top pegs are 6, 12, 16, 18, 20, 31, 34 and 36.
LITTLE GEARYS The most consistent pool at the Fishery with good nets coming from all pegs. F1’s to 4lb are providing the bulk of catches but skimmers, carp, tench and crucians are also showing well. Shallow tactics are the best with pellet waggler or long pole and pellet working well. Top pegs are 3, 7, 9, 12, 19, 24 and 29.
GRATUITIES Carp in the 1 – 4lb range are giving good sport along with tench and lots of crucians and a few barbel which are starting to show. Pole and paste or meat down the margins is the top tactic but pellet waggler, pellet feeder or fishing on the top with bread or biscuit are all providing good sport. Top pegs are 1, 2, 8, 9, 11 and 15.
WILLOW Pellet waggler or pellet fished to the island during the day and in the evenings, down the edges with paste or corn. Carp to 15lb, F1’s, tench and skimmers have all figured in nets this week. Top pegs are 1, 5, 6, 10 and 12.
SIBLINGS A & B In cracking form with lots of carp in the 1 – 4lb range, tench to 3lb and crucians coming out. Pole fishing with banded hard pellet shot at 3m or up to the far bank/island is the best tactic.
