REPORT

MOLANDS The colder nights have made the fishing harder through the day but the carp are showing well in the evenings and fish to nearly 20lb have been caught this week. Pleasure anglers fishing floating baits have had some good catches of carp with plenty of fish into double figures being caught on Chum Mixer or bread. The F1s have been affected by the weather and nets to around 70lb have been best with pole and meat fishing down the first shelf on long pole with pellet accounting for fish to 5lb.

GEARYS Nets to 100lb have been caught this week with lots of carp around the double figure mark and up to 18lb featuring in catches. Bomb and pellet or boilies have been the best tactics but method feeder and dead reds have also been working. Some cracking nets of skimmers are also being caught with bags to 50lb on pole and pellet, caster or soft pellet. Best pegs have been 7 – 15, 18 – 20 and 30 – 33.
LITTLE GEARYS The most consistent pool with lots of 50lb+ nets being caught and weights to 100lb have also been had this week. Short pole with meat, corn or pellet is the best tactic but shallow fishing with waggler and pellet or long pole and pellet have also accounted for decent catches. The top end from 1 – 9 has been the better area but 13, 15, 18 – 21 and 25 have also been good.

GRATUITIES There have been some good nets of silvers this week including bream to 5lb and plenty of crucian carp with pole fished maggot or caster accounting for the better bags. The carp have been responding best to bomb or waggler with 8mm or 6mm pellet fished over to the island.

WILLOW Shallow tactics have been working best for F1s and carp with long pole and pellet fished on the jigger or pellet waggler with 6mm pellet fished close up to the island. Plenty of silver fish are still coming to the pole with caster or maggot as well.

SIBLINGS A (Doughnut) Pleasure anglers have had good nets of F1s, ide, skimmers and a few carp with the afternoons fishing best with the fish coming down the margins. Pellet, caster, meat or maggot have all been catching with nets to around 50lb best.

SIBLINGS B (Horseshoe) The end of the pool from pegs 7 – 11 has been the most prolific area with lots of F1s being caught around these pegs. Tench to 4lb, carp to 6lb and ide have also featured in catches with float fished corn, pellet or maggot working best.

ANNIVERSARIES Good nets of F1s are coming from all around the pool on pole with pellet. The bigger bream have been showing on pegs 6 and 19 – 23 with fish to 5lb coming to float fished corn, worm or big expanders fished over ground bait.
