REPORT

MOLANDS The fish have been spawning for most of the week and sport has been difficult for many. The F1s have completely switched off leaving the carp to make up the weights and nets to around 60lb have been best with fish to double figures featuring in catches. Pellet waggler or bomb with pellet/boilies has been the best approach. Shallow caster has been the best way of catching F1s but it is very hit and miss at the moment. Top pegs have been 2, 13 – 21, 27 – 31,
43 – 46 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS The fish were spawning up until this weekend and sport was difficult until Saturday when the fish switched back on and catches to nearly 100lb have been caught. Bomb and pellet the top tactic for carp and fish to nearly 20lb have featured. Good nets of skimmers, crucians and small carp are coming to pole fished caster or expander pellet as well. Top pegs have been
9 – 15, 18 – 23, 27, 31 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS Still very much out of sorts with the spawning actually compounding this. Nets to around 50lb have been best with carp and skimmers providing most of the action and the big F1s have switched off. Pellet waggler fished to the island or meat/corn down the margins have been the best tactic.

GRATUITIES As with all the pools, spawning made it hard through the middle of the week but sport was good around it with lots of carp in the 3 – 4lb range. Skimmers, crucians, tench and barbel also coming out. Pole fished corn or caster has been working well fished short at 3 – 5 metres or long down the margins where possible and surface fishing with bread or dog biscuit has caught a few of the bigger carp.

WILLOW Despite the spawning activity, Willow has been in good form this week with some great catches of F1s and carp. Pellet waggler or paste down the margins have both been working really well.

SIBLINGS A (Doughnut) Some good nets of ide are being caught to maggot or caster fished shallow. The F1s are coming to pellet fished shallow or down the margins and nets to around 70lb have been caught this week.

SIBLINGS B (Horseshoe) The most consistent pool at the moment with every peg producing plenty of bites of F1s from 8oz – 2lb. Shallow pole with pellet is the best tactic and pleasure anglers have reported catches to around 100lb on this.

ANNIVERSARIES Steady sport from all around the pool with plenty of F1s from 1 – 2lb showing to pellet or maggot. The bigger bream are showing on a few pegs with fish to 5lb from pegs 19 – 23 with corn, worm and caster best baits for them.
