REPORT

MOLANDS   Fishing well through the week but towards the weekend sport slowed and the fish started to spawn again.  F1’s to nearly 7lb, carp to 20lb, bream to 4lb and tench to 4lb all featured in catches this week and match weights to nearly 150lb were recorded.  Pellet has been the top bait, fished shallow at 14 metres for F1’s or larger pellet fished across to the island on bomb or waggler for carp.  Meat is also catching well down the margins.  Top pegs are 1 – 4,

10 – 19, 27 -29, 47, 43 – 48 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS   Catches have gone up a little from previous weeks with nets to 80lb+ and carp to nearly 20lb being caught.  There were signs that they are spawning again at the weekend but hopefully when finished sport will improve significantly.  Bomb and pellet or waggler is the top tactic but slapping pellets has also been catching well.  Chopped worm/caster or expander pellet has seen decent mixed catches of skimmers, crucians, tench and small carp being caught.  Best pegs have been 1, 9, 13, 19 – 27, 30 – 32 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS    Shallow tactics are working well with pellet fished at 13 metres catching F1’s to 4lb in nets to 80lb+.  Meat or pellet fished down the margins is also working catching plenty of F1’s and more chance of carp with fish to double figures showing to this.  Best areas have been where the wind has been blowing into 12 and pegs 1 – 7 have been the most consistent.

GRATUITIES   Fished really well this week with plenty of carp in the 2 – 4lb range being caught along with a few bigger samples.  Pellet waggler fishing up ot the island is accounting for the better nets but some good lumps are also being caught down the margins.  The crucian fishing is also excellent with lots of fish in the 8oz – 1½lb range being caught on the pole or with caster or soft pellet.

WILLOW   Another pool which is in really good form with lots carp and F1’s being caught tight up to the island either on the waggler or a small method feeder.  Pole fished shallow is also working really well with F1’s to 3lb coming in numbers to this.  Best pegs 1 – 6, 8, 11 and 13.

SIBLINGS A & B   Both pools have fished well with plenty of small F1’s showing to the pellet fished tight across to the far side.  Later in the day, fishing down the edges with meat or corn is best for carp and tench.
