 REPORT

MOLANDS   A little more patchy this week but good nets are still being caught with match weights to 100lb and pleasure anglers reporting even bigger nets.  Pete Green of Coventry fished the bomb and pellet on peg 60 and caught 50 F1’s to 4lb and a few larger carp as well.  Caster or maggot has been working well feeding down the first shelf or tight into the margins and the bigger F1’s are coming to this with fish to 5lb caught this week.  Best pegs have been 2, 4 – 10, 17, 25, 30, 42 – 47, 52 and 58 – 60.

GEARYS   There are lots of carp showing on the top but frustratingly hard to catch in numbers.  In the matches, the last couple of hours have been best with fish moving into the margins and getting caught on corn, dead maggot or meat fished over ground bait.  Bomb and pellet are still accounting for a few fish too.  The skimmers have been a little bit hit and miss too with candle over ground bait the best attack with nets to 30lb coming to this.  Top pegs are 1, 9, 12 – 16, 18 – 21, 29, 31, 33 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS   Like all the pools this week, Little Gearys has been a little hit and miss with one day fishing well and the next very difficult.  Maggots and casters have been the best baits with the F1’s seeming to switch off from the pellet at the moment.  Feeding heavy with caster down the first shelf has been the top tactic but fish are still coming shallow on the long pole as well.  Top pegs 3, 7 – 10, 15, 19, 21, 24 and 27 – 29.

GRATUITIES   Lots of crucians are being caught on small baits such as maggot, caster, or 4mm expanders.  Carp are coming to a waggler fished tight up to the island with punched bread, corn or pellet on the hook with fish to double figures being caught.  The best pegs have been 1, 3, 8, 9, 11 and 15.

WILLOW   The top pegs have been 1, 5 and 6 when fishing a small feeder to the island and this has accounted for good nets of carp and F1’s on small pieces of meat, punched bread or expander pellet.  Mixed nets of skimmers, crucians, F1’s and tench are coming to the pole and pellet/caster on the other pegs.

SIBLINGS   The new pools have been in decent form this week with Siblings B the most prolific, providing good nets of carp, F1’s and tench to float fished pellet, maggot or corn.  The Siblings A is a little more patchy but the carp are showing well on some pegs with fish to 8lb falling to pellet or corn.
