REPORT

MOLANDS The changeable weather has been reflected in the fishing with good sport one day and more difficult the next. Nets to over 140lb have been caught in matches and the F1s are well spread meaning that most pegs are capable of providing decent catches. Pole fished paste/pellet shallow or caster/pellet down the margins have been best for F1s to 7lb. The carp are responding best to method feeder or bomb and pellet fished tight across to the island. Best pegs have been
2 – 4, 12 – 15, 25 – 31, 41 – 48 and 52 – 56.

GEARYS Some cracking catches have been caught this week with match nets to over 150lb and pleasure catches exceeding that. Carp in the 5 – 10lb range have provided the best of the action with bomb and pellet, pellet waggler and ‘slapping’ big pellets on the pole the best tactics. Good nets of skimmers, crucians and smaller carp coming to pole fished corn, meat or caster fished short at 5 metres along then high bank.

LITTLE GEARYS The most consistent water at the moment with catches to 100lb and good back up weights from all around the pool. F1s are providing the main action with fish in the
1½lb – 3lb bracket are being caught in large numbers along with the odd bigger stamp to 7lb. Carp to double figures also featuring in catches. Top tactics have been shallow on the pole with pellet either ‘slapping’ or ‘jigging’ and down the inside margins with meat, paste or corn fished over ground bait.

GRATUITIES Like most of the pools the fishing has been a little up and down. On the good days, there have been cracking mixed nets of crucians, skimmers, carp and tench with the short line at 5 metres best. The bigger carp are coming to pellet waggler or a feeder fished tight to the island.

SIBLINGS A On this pool, paste fished close in is the top tactic catching carp, F1s and decent sized skimmers. Pole and pellet shallow for F1s and caster shallow for ide are also working well at the moment.

SIBLINGS B Siblings B has been in good form with every peg providing plenty of F1s and ide with a few better sized carp and tench also showing. Pole with pellet shallow or pole with paste has been the best approach.

ANNIVERSARIES Still very patchy with catches to around 50lb but made up of F1s and the odd bream and tench coming to float fished corn, caster or pellet. The best pegs have been 1 – 8, 15, 19 and 23.

WILLOW Fishing really well with good nets of carp and F1s coming to shallow pole and pellet or pellet waggler fished up to the island. Paste down the margins is also catching well particularly the better sized fish and carp to high doubles are coming out.
