REPORT

MOLANDS   On Molands, it has been the carp that have made up the bulk of catches with some good nets being taken from the inside margin and fish to 14lb are coming to dead reds or meat fished tight up to the bank.  F1’s, skimmers and crucians are being caught on the long pole with pellet or corn on the hook.  The pellet feeder is also working well fished tight up to the island with meat or small white boilies on the hook.  Top pegs 1 – 4, 10, 19, 25 – 29, 31 – 33, 42 – 48 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS   It has been a little harder this week with the cooler overnight temperatures seeing the fish switch off a little.  There have been some big carp coming out with fish to 20lb reported by pleasure anglers and up to 18lb in matches.  Straight lead and pellet is still a good approach or down the margin with corn, meat or paste.  The skimmers are responding to caster and worm or soft expander pellet.  Best areas have been pegs 1, 7 – 11, 15, 18 – 20, 29, 31 and 36 – 38.

LITTLE GEARYS   Like all the pools, the fishery has been a little harder but as usual Little Gearys remains a very fair pool with lots of pegs capable of producing good nets.  Shallow tactics are still working well with pellet at 10 – 13 metres providing nets of F1’s and a few carp.  The inside margin is also producing well to corn, caster or pellet for mixed nets of F1’s, skimmers, tench and crucians  Top pegs are 5, 7 – 9, 13 – 15, 19, 21 and 27 – 29.

GRATUITIES   Catches to 50lb have been best this week with carp from 2 – 4lb providing the best chance of sport.  Pellet waggler, candle or pellet feeder fished tight to the island is still working best.  Top pegs 1, 4 – 8, 9 and 13.

SIBLINGS   A quiet week on Siblings with the heavy algae bloom putting anglers off a little.  Those who did fish it, enjoyed decent sport with tench, skimmers and crucians feeding well in the day and the bigger carp late in the evening.  Meat or pellet fished close in has been the best tactic.

ANNIVERSARIES    Fishing well for mixed catches of skimmers, crucians, F1’s, carp and a few barbel.  Lots of fish are coming short at 4 – 6 metres with banded hard pellet or 6mm chunks of meat.  The bigger carp are showing on the early pegs. With 1 – 4 producing fish to 17lb on meat or corn fished tight to the far bank.

WILLOW    The top tactic on Willow has been a small feeder fished tight to the island for small carp and F1’s or down the near margin for the bigger carp up to 14lb.

CRESCENT   Very popular this week with some good bags of carp being caught.  The best approach on Crescent is to fish down the edge with meat, corn, paste or pellet.
