FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 10/11/13

Last week 71 rods caught 220 for an average 3.10.
The fishing is getting better on all of the pools with the first frosts starting to break up shoals and moving the fish around the lakes.
Damsel Nymph, Cats Whisker, Minkies, black Tadpole, Viva and Appetizer have all accounted for a few fish this week showing that the fish are more willing to chase Lures now the water is cooling.
The top areas have been the old boat jetty corner and high bank on Cocks Close. The jetty side of Great Pool and opposite the open meadow down from the boat jetty is fishing well on Hall Pool.
The biggest fish of the week was a 10lb rainbow caught by Rod Lacey of Nuneaton who was fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and he took it on a black Lure.  Rob Davies of Birmingham fished black and white Lures to tempt eight fish to 3lb whilst fishing from a boat on Cocks Close.  John Riley of Atherstone caught five fish to just over 3lb on a small Cats Whisker fished on an intermediate line.
