FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 5/11/17

Last week there were 52 rods caught 76 fish for an average of 1.46.

It has been another tough week on the Trout Fishery with the fish still playing hard to catch, although there were signs of an improvement at the weekend with the much cooler conditions.

The biggest fish of the week was a 5lb rainbow caught by Harold Pritchett of Atherstone who was fishing from a boat on Park Meadow and caught this along with seven other fish on a combination of Damsels and Crunchers. Kevin Brookes of Tamworth had five fish to 4lb using Ace of Spades Lures from a boat on Park Meadow.

Mr P Sweatman visiting from Bristol fished Cocks Close and caught six fish using mini Cats Whiskers and orange Daddy Long Legs. Alex Kerr of Nuneaton also caught six fish from a boat on Cocks Close and these came to Minkies and Cats Whiskers.

The first frosts of the winter will help Cocks Close regain some form and the shoals should start to disperse.
