A very tight match on this hot day with Dave Winfield taking an all carp net fishing the pole and corn down the margin at peg 40 landing 18 fish his biggest going 10lb for a winning weight of 41lb 11oz. In second place Dave Round had one 12lb carp on light tackle and caster with the rest of his 40lb 12oz’s made up of skimmers and roach also on the caster.

Despite the flat calm and red hot weather the lake fished well, in top spot Kristian fished a pellet method cast to the island and later fished the pellet waggler up in the water at peg 43 landing 23 carp – 8lb. 2nd placed Rob Ward fished the pole and pellet out and down the margin for 18 carp – 10lb at peg 40.

A good turn out for this popular Wednesday open, even the fish turned out in numbers, 52lb 4oz only got you 11th place. In top spot Worksop’s Andy Lakey fished the method feeder  and pellet cast to the lily pads from peg 24 catching carp 11 – 6lb and in the last hour added 8 more – 9lb fishing the pole and corn down the margin, he edged in front by one fish landing a total of 85lb 5oz, in 2nd place with 82lb 4oz Scott Plant fished the pole and corn down the margin at corner peg 29 landing some hard fighting carp – 10lb.

A very good days fishing was had by all, Lee fished the pole and caster long at 13m for a busy day catching silvers landing roach and ide- 1lb and skimmers – 2lb weighing in 41lb 15oz finishing with just over a pound in front of Mick and Lee both having big nets of silvers and both having 2 bonus carp.
