The Holmedale Lake as it top form again the last four open matches have all been won with over 98lb, Richard Wood won with 114lb 8oz of carp all taken on the pole and paste on peg 35, Pete Ellis has won 2 out of the four with 106lb 4oz on peg 51 and 99lb 8oz from peg 41 both fishing pole and corn down the margins. Lee Payling won the latest fishing pole and paste at peg 24 with 98lb 2oz, but club angler Glen Greasley fishing with Oaks AC went one better also on peg 24 he fished method feeder corn and pellet for a net of carp weighing 115lb 4oz. Pleasure anglers are also getting into some good bags of carp catches over 200lb have been reported, all pegs fishing well.
On the Muanside John Eves won the Plough AC club match fishing pole and maggot for an all chub catch on peg 7, with fish – 1.5lb and a total of 87lb 15oz. 80lb was needed to win the Unison AC club match this time on the pole and paste fished down the middle for carp -2lb from peg 6.
Lots of carp -17lb have been caught on the Sherwood and Cavendish lakes on all permitted methods, bream and tench to 3lb on pole corn and pellet in nets – 70lb+ on the Sherwood best pegs on the field side 8 – 18 fishing at the side of the lily pads.
