Charity Match Sunday 9th April 2006

 

With glorious sunshine to start the morning around 30 anglers joined in the charity event at Springwood. FisherMen, women and children endured the battle of all weathers rain , hail, sleet even snow making it difficult conditions for the match. The results are listed below:

 

1ST-Thomas Parkin-Derby Juniors won with 17.00lb, fished with mixture of corn and castor to island on bottom lake peg 29.

 

2nd– Alan Glover –Derby 11lb won on corner peg 12 on top lake.

 

3rd-Alistair Chisholm- Derby 10.08 oz won on peg 20 bottom lake.

 

joint 4th-Tommy Dowd-Derby 8lb 08oz from peg 2 on bottom lake.

            -Mark Broomfield-Leics with same from peg 6 top lake.

 

3 section prizes all went to Dave Morton, Johnaton Trivett and Alison Thompson.

Variety of carp caught on the day mostly ghost carp.

Well-done to Catrin Hurt (titch) who was the youngest angler of 13 years she had tough competition and caught 3lb 30z and also went away with one of the raffle prizes.

Raffle tickets were sold and proceeds from the peg fees all got donated to the ‘JDRF’ charity.

A research foundation for finding a cure for diabetes in juveniles.
